THE HISTORY BEHIND THE MONUMENT
The original idea for the Carbon County Emergency Services Volunteers monument was born with the previous President of the CCFPA, Tom Tomlinson (behind us in the picture with the white beard). Carbon County Fire Police Association former board member John Hanley, requested a grant and received $5,000 from the PA Dept. of Community & Economic Development thru efforts of PA House Representative Keith McCall.
The monument, is 6’ tall and sits on a pedestal which is 8" high and 58" wide. It is made out of black granite in the shape of the PA Keystone and will sit on white stone or cement. It will have a white picket fence on sides and back.
I would like to thank all involved in the endeavor. I know it will be a long lasting tribute to our brave Emergency Services Volunteers.
Stan Kostro,
CCFPA President
